ANNUAL CONFERENCE
SET FOR SALINA
The annual meeting of the Kansas West Conference has been scheduled for May 28-30 at the Salina Bicentennial Center. There will be reports from the recently adjourned General Conference, as well as preparation for this summer’s Jurisdictional Conference, and our own annual business.
Please pray for all clergy and lay delegates as we prepare to be about the business of our conference.
UNITED METHODISM
101
General Conference, Jurisdictional Conference, Annual Conference, clergy, laity, resolutions, Discipline…if those terms don’t make sense to you, perhaps it’s time for a refresher course in United Methodism.
This summer we will offer an “adult confirmation” that will serve as a short term class in all things United Methodist (maybe not all things, but we’ll try to come close). If you’ve ever wondered about the governance of our denomination, or why we have all those meetings with all those people, or how we arrive at the Book of Discipline – be prepared to come and learn.
Details will be offered at the beginning of the summer. Watch and plan to be a part.

METour 2008 The Annual Kansas West UMW Mission Education Tour will be June 3-13th. The tour this year will leave Wichita and travel through the Northwest via Denver and Salt Lake City. Young women who have completed their sophomore year of high school and beyond, ages 15-22, are encouraged to apply. The local UMW will pay all the fees except for the $25 registration fee and we hope that you will consider taking advantage of this great experience. The purpose of the tour is to inform young women about the mission and outreach of the UMC and of opportunities for careers in service to the church. For more information contact the church office or Hazel Douthit, UMW President. Applications must be sent by April 1. |
