We would like to remind everyone that we do not have room to store out of season clothing, which means we have the extra work and expense of packing them out if you bring them to us now.
We have been extremely busy, both with donations and customers. What a great combination! We were blessed with a large donation of new clothing from a store that closed recently.
WE NEED HELP HAULING BAGS TO GOODWILL OR ANY OTHER CHARITY!! If you are not familiar with how we do this, please contact us at the store.
As always, we need volunteers, so come on down, even if you only have an hour or two to help out. We work on Tuesday mornings and are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

If you haven’t been in to see us, please come soon! We are serving a need for a place to buy clothing at affordable prices as well as an outlet for people to take their unneeded items.
them now. We also appreciate CLEAN clothing in good condition.
We do launder
some,
but much of it is thrown away as Goodwill does not want it if it is dirty
or in disrepair. Having to launder adds to the expense and work for
the volunteers. We have a reputation for only putting out quality
clothing and that is one of the reasons for our success.
We are often asked to take items too large for our space. In response, we have started a bulletin board for posting items for sale or items wanted, with the proceeds going to the store.
HISTORY
June 1972 - Lawn Ridge Church merged with the United Methodist Church. Soon after that Dorothy Curry (of Lawn Ridge) started a project in the basement of the Education Building giving away clothing. She washed and mended when necessary. Alma Zimbelman soon joined in the project. She had the idea to charge 10 cents or more for items. This encouraged more customers. Soon Helen Peter, Ruby Harkins and Nettie Ochsner helped for 7 1/2 years. Extra clothing was taken to Garden City by Elmer & Alma Zimbelman and Wilbur Curry.
